PRESENTATION TYPES
FACE-TO-FACE
Each presentation is allocated 10 minutes, followed by 5 minutes for questions and discussion. To ensure your presentation fits within the allotted time, we recommend the following structure:
Title Slide – Include the presentation title, your name, and a brief statement outlining the focus of your paper.
Research Hypothesis/Research Question – Clearly present the main hypothesis or research question you aim to investigate.
Current Research Plan – Use 2–3 slides to explain your research plan, including the methodology, proposed approach, and expected outcomes (as appropriate).
Presentation Tips
Keep your presentation to no more than 10 slides. This allows approximately one minute per slide and helps you stay within the allocated time.
Avoid using too many slides, as this can make it difficult for the audience to follow your presentation.
Minimise the amount of text on each slide. Use concise bullet points, figures, or diagrams where appropriate. Your slides should support your presentation rather than replace it—the audience should be listening to you, not reading large blocks of text.
Practise your presentation in advance to ensure it can be delivered comfortably within the 10-minute time limit.

POSTER PITCHING COMPETITION
Participation in the JICEBSS Research Innovation Poster Pitching Competition is automatically included for all registered poster presenters. No separate registration or additional fee is required. Please refer to the Poster Pitching Competition page for the competition rules, evaluation criteria, and award categories.
Please note that the organiser does not provide a board or stand for the poster. Please bring your own stand (T-stand, etc).
Travelling with a Poster and stand
Many airlines now require that poster tubes be checked rather than brought as carry-on luggage. Please check with your airline prior to traveling.
VIRTUAL
Participants who register under the Virtual Presentation category will present their papers online via Google Meet during the conference. Meeting links and presentation schedules will be emailed to registered participants prior to the conference.
Presentation Format
Each presenter will be allocated 10 minutes for the presentation, followed by 5 minutes for a Questions and Answers (Q&A) session.
Please follow the same presentation structure and recommendations outlined in the Face-to-Face Presentation Guidelines, including the suggested slide organisation, maximum number of slides, and presentation tips.
To ensure a smooth virtual presentation:
Join the online meeting at least 10–15 minutes before your scheduled presentation time to test your audio, camera, and screen-sharing.
Ensure you have a stable internet connection and present from a quiet environment with minimal background noise.
Have your presentation slides open and ready to share before your session begins.
Keep your microphone muted when not speaking and unmute only during your presentation and Q&A session.
Be prepared to answer questions from the audience during the allocated Q&A period.
